My AC quit during a humid stretch. What can I check before calling?
Call us for the repair, but there are a few safe things to look at first. Check that the thermostat is set to cool and the batteries are good, look for a tripped breaker, swap a clogged filter, clear grass clippings and weeds away from the outdoor unit, and make sure supply vents are open. Anything involving refrigerant or high voltage we handle on site.
We heat with propane. Is that a problem?
No, propane furnaces and dual-fuel systems are common across Kentucky and we service them regularly. Dual-fuel setups switch between a heat pump and the furnace based on outdoor temperature, and when that changeover is set wrong you either burn more propane than you need or shiver through a cold snap. What if I smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds?
Get everyone out of the house first, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or go looking for the source. Once the utility has cleared the home, call us and we will inspect the furnace, the venting and the heat exchanger before anything gets relit.
Our farmhouse has rooms that never get comfortable. Can that be fixed?
Usually yes. In older Kentucky homes where ductwork was added long after the house was built, the trouble is often undersized returns, leaking duct joints in a crawlspace, or runs that are simply too long to deliver air to the far bedroom.
