What a Ductless Mini-Split Repair Involves
A mini-split repair starts with figuring out whether the fault sits in the indoor head, the outdoor condenser, or the line set and wiring between them. We read any stored error codes, watch the system run through a full cycle, and check what each zone is actually doing against what the thermostat or remote is asking for. Because these systems share one outdoor unit across several heads, a problem in one room often traces back to a shared component. We test rather than guess before we quote any work.
What We Check On The Call
We pull and clean or replace the indoor filters, inspect the blower wheel and coil for the dust and grease film that kills airflow, and clear the condensate drain and pump that cause most indoor leaks. Outside we look at the fan motor, the electrical connections, the reversing valve on heat pump models, and refrigerant pressures at the service ports. On the control side we check the communication wiring, the circuit board, and the remote or wall control. Then we tell you what we found in plain words.
How We Decide Repair Is The Right Call
We weigh the age of the equipment, whether replacement parts are still available for that model, and how many zones are affected. A bad condensate pump or a dirty blower wheel is worth fixing on almost any system. A failed compressor on a system already well into its second decade is a different conversation, especially if it was oversized for the room to begin with. We lay out what the repair covers and what it does not, then let you decide without pressure.

Why is only one of my mini-split heads not cooling?
Usually a blocked filter or coil in that head, a stuck expansion valve, or a control wiring fault. Since the heads share one outdoor unit, a single warm zone points at that zone's own components first.
My indoor head is dripping water on the wall. Is that serious?
It is almost always a clogged condensate drain or a failed pump, not refrigerant. Shut the unit off at the remote to stop the drip and call us before the water damages drywall or flooring.
Can a mini-split be repaired instead of replaced?
Often yes. Fans, boards, sensors, drain pumps and capacitors are common repairs. Availability of parts for older or discontinued models is the usual limit, and we check that before recommending anything.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, no air, a smell, a noise, a breaker that keeps tripping. That detail tells us what parts to bring along.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
We check the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow and the equipment itself before we quote anything. If the problem sits in the ductwork rather than the unit, we say so plainly.
- Step 3
We repair and explain
Most air conditioning repair and heating repair work finishes in one visit. We show you the failed part, explain what caused it, and tell you what to watch for next season.

Why homeowners call us
- Propane and dual fuelPlenty of homes in our service area run propane heat or a dual fuel setup with a heat pump. We know how those systems switch over and why a bad changeover setting can leave you cold and burning fuel.
- Older houses, added ductworkFarmhouses often got ducts decades after they were built, run through crawl spaces and attics. When the equipment tests fine but rooms still fight each other, we look at the duct runs and static pressure.
- Repair before replacementA failed capacitor, a cracked wire, a clogged drain or a bad control board is a repair, not a new system. We tell you when the equipment is genuinely finished and when it is not.
- Plain talk on the phoneWe ask what the thermostat reads, whether the outdoor unit is spinning, and when it last worked normally. That two minute conversation often shortens the visit and keeps the repair cost down.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
